Welcome to Headshorts. By downloading, installing, or using the Headshorts application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

Summary

Headshorts is an independent, client-side RSS reader. We do not host news content, create news articles, or run proxy servers. You choose which public RSS feeds to subscribe to.

1. Description of the Application

Headshorts is a personal, local-first RSS/Atom news reader for Android. It allows users to subscribe to publicly available news feeds, read article summaries, view on-device article extractions, and organize feeds into categories.

Headshorts operates solely as a client-side reader tool. It does not host, curate, publish, or modify the underlying journalistic content provided by publishers.

2. Intellectual Property & Publisher Content

  • Publisher Rights: All news headlines, snippets, images, and articles accessed via Headshorts remain the intellectual property and copyright of their respective publishers and content creators.
  • Fair Use & Attribution: Headshorts attributes every article to its source publication and provides direct links to the publisher’s original webpage.
  • App Software: The Headshorts software, branding, code, and design are the property of Gautam Rajeev Singh and are licensed under open-source or proprietary terms as specified in the project repository.

3. User Responsibilities

  • Feed Selection: You are solely responsible for the RSS feeds, websites, and content sources you choose to add to Headshorts.
  • Acceptable Use: You agree not to use the application to violate any applicable laws or copyright regulations.

4. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

  • Content Accuracy: Because news feeds are fetched directly from external publishers, Headshorts cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any third-party news content.
  • As-Is Provision: The application is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
  • Limitation of Liability: In no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the application.
